Harrison Street "What's Blooming"
This Weekend, May 15th & 16th!!
The theme for this weekend is: "It's Easy Being Green" and Sirius Cooks has a lot happening this Saturday the 16th of May.
We will have Catvando (a non-profit 501-C3) organization that traps/neuters/releases (TNR) cats and kittens. The kittens will be up for adoption all day from 10-5pm. Consider it a cuteness warning.
Sirius Cooks will also present the founder of Sweet-Bay Hol-Sale, Melissa Pavlica, speaking on the healthy foods (including The Honest Kitchen, Aunt Jeni's and Restoration Raw) from 1-4pm
Sirius Cooks will also be speaking next door (at Process Painting, 140 Harrison Street) from 3-3:30 “What Is in that Pet Food You’re Feeding Fido and Figaro?”
For more info on street happenings, check out the OPAD website. Such as, on Friday night there will be readings from Oak Park writers at 7pm at EastGate Cafe (102 Harrison), AND a CD release party and performance at 7pm from Gilmary Doyle-Andrews at Val's Halla (239 Harrison).
Miscellaneous "Stuff"
We are constantly looking for affordable AND healthy foods for dogs and cats. Some people might think that the 2 can't go together, but honestly, they can. We have worked with manufacturers and have received "Frequent Buyer Programs" for Fromm Pet Foods, Orijen/Acana and Life4K9. All great foods that will fit your dogs and cats healthiness. Come in and ask us about it.
We have a book for sale "Not Fit for Dogs", that is written by three veterinarians, that tells it like it is in the real world of Pet Food manufacturing. Needless to say, they believe in Raw food and Home-Cooking and explain in detail what actually happened with the pet food recall in 2007. You get a free sample of Sirius Cooks™ home-cooked stew when you buy this great book in our store. You can go to our website to order it, if you can't make it into our store.

Sirius Cooks will also list any new product recalls on our Sirius Blog, along with good-wish stories (don't we all need good news once in awhile).
